Ruger #1 Work

The Ruger #1 is, in my opinion, the most elegant factory rifle made. They come in a wide variety of calibers and configurations.  We are doing more and more work on Ruger #1’s and a big reason for that is the fact that I like these rifles a lot. They have a reputation for being inaccurate. Part of that reputation is deserved, and part is unjustified. Many of the rifles do shoot poorly as they come from the factory.

Some of this is due to the chancy quality of the factory barrels. Partly, it is due to the setup of the forearm and the absolutely horrible factory triggers. We change a lot of things to make these rifles work and have good success. Another advantage to the #1 is that when you re-barrel it you can change it to virtually any chambering. There are a lot of custom touches that can be added to these rifles to really personalize them. The variations and choices are almost endless.
